Ballechin 10 Year Old
Ballechin is the heavily peated distillation we have been making at Edradour Distillery since 2003. Distilled using barley which has been infused with peat to a level not less than 50ppm. This bottling is predominantly from ex Bourbon casks with a generous top dressing of ex Oloroso Sherry casks, to create added depth and greater complexity. It has been bottled at 46%, without chillfiltration, to retain the true cask character. The name Ballechin originates from a fellow Perthshire farm distillery, which sadly closed its doors in 1927. There, Alfred Barnard, who catalogued all the distilleries in the UK in the 1880’s, made reference to having experienced a peated whisky. Ballechin Bourbon Cask Matured
We started distilling Ballechin in 2003, our heavily peated malt, peated to a level of at least 50ppm. Distilled in 2008, the new spirit was filled into Bourbon cask No 281 and matured solely in that cask. Outturn 301 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength, the whisky retains the full depth of colour and all the flavours developed during maturation. No artificial colour has been added during bottling. The colour of the whisky reflects only the natural impact from the casks used. Caledonia 12 Year Old
Caledonia Edradour is a special single cask release, selected by songwriter Dougie Maclean and named after his famous song, Caledonia. This handmade single malt is a small batch bottling. “I wrote Caledonia, in 1977 on a beach in Brittany, France, when I was genuinely homesick for Scotland. My life has always been based in Perthshire. For me, the location of Edradour, with its neat cluster of whitewashed buildings, traditional equipment and employment of ancient methods of making single malt whisky, combined with its state of the art bottling facility, typify Caledonia. Cask Strength 21 Year Old Oloroso Sherry
This whisky has been matured for 21 years solely in a first fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, imparting great colour and character. Distilled on 17 August 1993 and bottled on 20 August 2014. Cask No. 300. 581 bottles individually numbered. The result is a wonderfully balanced, smooth and very complex whisky, which is delightful on the palate with a long and satisfying finish. Bottled at Cask Strength of 58% ABV and Un-chillfiltered, in order to capture all the signature characteristics of Edradour. Edradour 10 Year Old Unchillfiltered
The unchillfiltered version of the 10 Year Old, traditionally bottled, no colour added and a little stronger at 46% ABV. Due to no chillfiltration this is both more full bodied and full flavoured. This whisky may turn cloudy when stored in a cool place but does not affect the flavour in any way. This is a Signatory Vintage bottling (the independent bottler is based at Edradour Distillery) and is labelled with date of distillation, cask number, bottle number and bottling date.
